Adjust the cents slider to see the difference!

Here is a simulation of the difference between common needle/LED tuners and a Peterson Virtual Strobe™ Tuner.

1. Grab the slider and pull the pitch either all the way sharp or flat.

2. Now, while only looking at the needle/LED tuner, try to pull the slider into tune by responding to the reading the needle/LED tuner is giving you. When you think you are in tune, check out the number next to your slider.

3. Now, look down at the Peterson Virtual Strobe display and see how much finer you can adjust your pitch!

When tuning your instrument, why should you care about a few cents of error?

Let's see why! To let you hear the "night and day" difference that tuning with stroboscopic accuracy makes, we took a 6-string acoustic guitar, a Peterson VS-1™ Virtual Strobe™ Tuner, and a well known needle/LED tuner and asked a guitar player to use each tuner to tune the guitar purely visually, as he usually would between songs on a live stage.

The tuners were used according to their manufacturers' instructions. The results were recorded without any processing apart from compressing the files down to "web-size".
